These options tell Wallpaper Changer what to do with your Desktop icon captions. The program can also analyze your picture and will determinate the best background and the most readable icon caption color. This feature make Wallpaper Changer infinitely more powerful than similar utilities.

[x] Analyze picture and automatically
determinate best background an icon color

Analyzing the picture usually works and produces icon captions that you can read and a background color that matches your picture. Disable this option and you can setup user defined colors. I recommend to enable this feature, it really rocks. :)

[x] Make desktop icons have captions
with transparent background

This is another nifty feature, you have the ability to give your desktop icons captions a transparent background, so more of your wallpaper shows through. If you choose to use transparent icon backgrounds, one problem may arise. If you use certain programs, especially games or other full screen applications,  then those programs may reset your icon colors to non-transparent. The only way to solve this problem is to have Wallpaper Changer open at all times (Unselect "Force Exit After Change" on the Wallpaper tab). Wallpaper Changer needs not much power for this feature, so it will not decrease your  performance.

However, in some cases this feature will not work. If some of the following statements can be from you...

1. After i have started Wallpaper Changer, it is now impossible to read many of the labels on my icons ?

2. If I set the caption around the icons to be transparent in Wallpaper Changer, it will work for a while until I click on a icon, now the icons and the captions are blue !

This happens with almost all programs that try to do this...

3. Whenever I start Wallpaper Changer, my desktop and folder icons all go white or black or sometimes other odd mixed colors ! However, the more times the wallpaper is changed, the more icons are affected. Any suggestions?

...you can only disable this feature.

THIS IS NOT A BUG OF WALLPAPER CHANGER, THIS SHOULD HAPPEN WITH ANY OTHER PROGRAM THAT WILL PROMISE SUCH FEATURE !!! THE ONLY THING YOU CAN DO, IS TO UPDATE YOUR DRIVER FOR YOUR GRAPHIC ADAPTER. MAYBE THE FEATURE WILL WORK NOW.

[x] Use only gray values for icon captions

By default the automatically color detection produces colored icon captions. Sometimes those are not very readable, you should use only values between black and white.

[x] Hide all desktop icons

Be careful, in order to hide all desktop icons, I strictly recommend to add Wallpaper Changer to your start menu! Hiding the desktop icons, is not a common Windows function, Windows will hide these symbol's only by a tricky workaround. So don't wonder, if no "right click" on your desktop is possible! You can access your display properties within your control panel.
